Gita Region is one of the 31 administrative districts in Tanzania. Jeita is the capital. The regional commissioner for the Gita region is Rosemary Stucky Cinnamol.
The Geta Gold Mine is located within the Geta District, 4 km west of the city of Geta. The mine is owned and operated by AngloGold Ashanti.
