Mkinga District Council-Tanga, Tanzania

Mkinga District Council is one of the 11 Councils in Tanga region which was officially established on 01/07/2007 after being divided from Muheza District which was established in 1974. This district is bordered by Muheza District and Tanga in the south, Korogwe and Lushoto Districts. on the West, the Republic of Kenya on the north and the Indian Ocean on the east. The district has an area of 2,948 square kilometers.
According to the 2012 Tanzania National Census, the population of Mkinga District was 118,065
