As the official representative of the United Republic of Tanzania, the Embassy covers all matters relating to diplomatic relations, and is responsible for promoting relations of friendship and cooperation between the governments and peoples of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Federal Republic of Tanzania. Germany and other countries for which this embassy is also accredited (Republic of Austria, Republic of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Republic of Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic, Swiss Confederation and the Holy See).
The main job of the Embassy is to promote Tanzania’s economic and other interests. In this regard, the Embassy represents Tanzania’s interests in a range of areas, including trade, finance, investment and tourism, as well as education and culture. It reaches out to potential investors, corporations, governmental and non-governmental bodies, among others, in the field of accreditation and encourages them to do business with Tanzania, visit tourist attractions, or do other things with the aim of strengthening relations with Tanzania.
The Embassy also works to protect the interests of Tanzanians living in the accreditation areas.
The Embassy of Tanzania in Berlin, Germany operates a comprehensive range of consular services: for local, Tanzanian, German and international citizens of Germany and nationals of approved countries.
