JOBS IN TANZANIA>>Tanzania Chamber Of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (tccia)
The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) was established in 1988. It started with the support of the Tanzanian government to strengthen the private sector.
The establishment of TCCIA was an important step in the transition from a centralized and planned economy to a more open and mixed economy giving full scope to privately owned businesses and farms.
TCCIA has opened regional offices in all 21 districts of Tanzania and more than 90 district centres, which are autonomous in their operational activities. The assistance provided by the Swedish State Development Agency-Sida has played a vital role in setting up the regional and local chambers especially in providing training, office equipment and mobilizing/educating the business community.
These independent TCCIA chambers in 21 regions of the country connect the private sector with government with the aim of promoting private enterprise development. By linking central issues to business, the Chamber serves as an arena where dialogue with government promotes sustainable growth and development for the private sector.
