Commencing operations using 6 IMO tanks, Primefuels provided fuel transportation on the Kenya Railways network. From these humble beginnings, Primefuels has expanded its infrastructure and services built on the foundation and a reputation for reliability and efficiencies with a high service ethos, to become a reliable logistics partner for African business.
Today, Primefuels’ business has grown into an integrated logistics company serving 9 countries in the East African region. It is one of the largest privately owned African logistics companies and employs more than 1,000 people and a fleet of 500 trucks.
Primefuels started with the goal of building strong and lasting relationships and not just meeting but exceeding customer expectations. 25 years later, our goal remains the same.
Business Administration combines the experience, knowledge and financial support of managers with more than twenty years of continuous experience in the transportation field. All senior staff have prior experience in managing and delivering logistics services. The support of this management team is a committed workforce of highly experienced professionals in the sector trained to international standards.
In addition to key employees, we have more than 1,000 customer-facing employees, who are the cornerstone of the company.
Asif was born in Dar es Salaam and studied and worked for Deloitte and Shell in the UK before starting Primefuels as a sole employee in 1994.
Over the past 25 years, Primefuels has been built into the regional transportation and logistics business serving East and Central Africa, employing over 1,000 employees and local contractors in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Dubai.
With his extensive knowledge of the logistics and bulk fuel transportation sector in East and Central Africa, Asif plays a vital role in shaping the strategic vision for the group’s business and is heavily involved in strategy implementation with the senior management team.
Asif and its employees focus on providing a secure, reliable and competitive integrated regional service to clients. The growth of the business has come naturally, and its culture is one of professionalism where managers have delegated authority to operate, deliver and grow the business locally. Financial support and guidance are provided to local managers to attract multinational clients operating in our area with a focus on health, safety, security and environmental standards of their operations.
