Sahara Group has commissioned a storage facility with a capacity of 36 million liters in Tanzania. The facility will be operated by Sahara Tanzania Ltd, a subsidiary of the Sahara Group, located in Vijibweni, Kigamboni Industrial Zone in Dar es Salaam.
It can store 18 million liters of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and 18 million liters of premium motor oil (PMS). The facility has six loading booms for PMS and six for AGO giving it the ability to load up to 120 trucks per day.
Speaking at the official commissioning ceremony for the facility, Bulk Petroleum Procurement Agency’s Director of Supply Raymond Lucilo said that Sahara Tanzania Limited’s entry into Tanzania’s oil and gas sector was remarkable at a time when the management of His Excellency Mr. John Magufuli was leading an unprecedented drive to bring in Significant investments in this sector.

This is a strategic investment that signals the company’s commitment to enhancing the sector’s image through continued investments across the entire energy value chain.
