About the Foundation
Mo Dewji Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to ridding the citizens of Tanzania of poverty and suffering and enriching their lives. “I have been fortunate and am very proud of the success of my company, MeTL, but with this success and subsequent wealth comes the responsibility. God blesses some people with wealth and it is the duty of these people to redistribute this wealth to the less fortunate and to contribute to humanity. Mo scholars
We believe that high quality and accessible education is not only critical to the development of Tanzania but also a human right.
In Tanzania, only 30% of children attend secondary school, and of this group, only 4% attend tertiary education.
Committed to empowering the youth of Tanzania, the Mo Scholars Program offers scholarships to outstanding Model 6 graduates of high school, who wish to attend a college or university but are unable to afford it.
Our scholarships are awarded annually to a select group of high school graduates, and cover tuition and surcharges (housing, meals, etc.) for four years of undergraduate study. We currently support over 100 students.
With the aim of shaping the next generation of leaders in Tanzania, our program builds a supportive community of motivated students and equips them with the ability to unleash their greatest potential
