The White house Arusha hostel is one of the leading award-winning hostels in Arusha with a lovely ambiance, great homely feeling, and a hostel is in a safe location at the beautiful Njiro Area in Arusha.
Our hostel in Arusha was founded in early 2015 and has since the beginning been both travelers & volunteer’s paradise in the outskirts of Arusha. Since day one the staff has had impeccable work ethics, which have led to several awards including some from TripAdvisor awards, latest the Travellers Choice Award 2018 for Best Arusha hostel. White House of Tanzania is one of the coziest and most homely hostels in Arusha, which is a great place to meet new friends and other travelers.
We have a great experience with accommodating guests of all ages and nationalities and groups of all sizes. Our hostel consists of various room types differing from double rooms, rooms with separate beds in various sizes, and family rooms of 2, 3, or 4 people as well as shared dorm rooms of 7 people – all with private en-suite bathrooms. We have several common areas, both indoor and outdoor, where guests can relax and share experiences. In the living room, we have our TV corner with a big couch to relax in, a small desk to be used as a working space for guests, comfy bean bag chairs by our bookshelf to read in, and much more.
Outside, we have hammocks in the shade of our big trees to relax in on the warm afternoons as well as tanning chairs, where you can relax and enjoy the sun. The common area is also where our guests, both volunteers, and travelers, will come together and enjoy their meals. In the hostel, breakfast is included in the accommodation price, whereas lunch and dinner are available every day for a small fee. All our meals are enjoyed by staff and guests together in our big outside eating area. We find these times to be a good possibility for our guests to share experiences and ideas and even to plan future trips.
The White House is located in the beautiful area Njiro, which is not far from either Arusha and Kilimanjaro Airport. The location of the hostel is only a short drive of 10-15 minutes to the center of Arusha, the Clock Tower, and to other attractions such as the Masai souvenir market, the second-hand clothing markets, and the food market. From the hostel, it is only a short walk to the main road, where mini-buses and taxis can be caught easily.
Less than 10 minutes walk from the White House is Njiro Complex, a big compound containing a food court with multiple restaurants, ATMs, supermarkets, a cinema, a fitness center, and much more. Our guests are more than welcome to walk anywhere during the daytime, but at nighttime, it is no longer safe to walk on foot (this is the case all over Arusha).
However, it is very easy to arrange taxis or other kinds of transportation to the White House during nighttime. Included in your accommodation price, you will also find a good functioning WIFI at all times, so you can easily communicate with your friends and family at home. As we have guests (long-term and short-term) throughout the year, the hostel is a very social place and a great place to meet other travelers and join together in groups for tours. We organize everything from day trips to mountain trekking to safari trips to relaxing on Zanzibar – we are more than happy to arrange your perfect holiday.
