The simple and easy way to install Windows 11 on Computer
Did you ever look at our huge Windows 11 upgrade checklist and just can’t get out of there right away? It turns out that there is a much easier way to install Windows 11 on computers with old CPUs – without having to reformat the drive, erase your files, or even burn an ISO file to an external USB drive.
If you are currently seeing “This PC does not currently meet the Windows 11 system requirements” or “The processor is not currently supported for Windows 11,” there is a Microsoft-certified registry hack that will improve it immediately.
1) Download Windows 11 ISO
You will need to download the ISO file. In our testing, this trick doesn’t work with Windows 11 Install Assistant, doesn’t launch Windows Update, and doesn’t cheat Microsoft Health Check.
On this Microsoft page, scroll down to download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO). Open the drop-down menu Select Download, choose Windows 11, press the Download button, select the language of the product from the drop-down list Choose the one that appears below, press Confirm, and then click 64-bit Download.
While this 5.1 GB image is downloading, let’s move on to the second step.
2) Edit the Windows registry to bypass the CPU check
In Windows, press Start and type regedit, then press Enter to launch the Registry Editor. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup, either by pasting this entire address into the box under File, Edit, View, Favorites, Help or by navigating down through the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, System, Setup, and MoSetup folders one at a time.
In the right pane, right-click and choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the value “AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU” minus the quotes. Double-click on the new value you created, and enter 1 in the Value data field. Press OK and close the Registry Editor.
3) Open the ISO file in Windows Explorer and start setup
Is the ISO finished downloading? Just right-click on it and choose Open With > Windows Explorer to mount the virtual disk, then double-click the setup file to start the installation.
That’s it! If the registry hack is successful, you will soon see a warning message instead of a rejection message, and you will be given the option to install Windows 11 without losing your data. Just know that Microsoft reserves the right to withhold security updates if you go this route.
