A company in the hospitality industry, specializing in conferences, events, restaurants and rooms is looking to hire a Procurement Officer.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill this position.
Reporting to the Finance Manager and Operations Controller, the Procurement Officer is responsible for planning and purchasing the company’s inventory.
Key Performance Areas
i. Prepare purchase orders based on properly authorized stock requisitions.
ii. Ensure that purchase orders are approved before they are issued to suppliers
iii. Make purchasing plans to facilitate having sufficient stock and efficient purchases
iv. Review the quality of the purchased goods according to the user’s needs.
v. Maintain an updated record of purchased products, delivery and billing information.
vi. Analyze price changes on a weekly basis to reduce costs.
vii. Arrange for suppliers to deliver goods to our door.
viii. Arranging credit facilities with suppliers.
ix. Monitor business direction to ensure that additional costs are minimized, by avoiding over-purchasing.
x. Maintaining the system of advances, whereby all bills and cash are withdrawn within the given deadlines.
xi. Timely processing of invoices in the procurement system.
xii. Liaise with Stores Officer on a daily basis on re-arrangement and toxic levels.
Qualifications
A) Degree or Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies
B) Must be a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies
Work Experience
- You must have at least two to three years of work experience in an established organization.

b) An analytical thinker with conceptual and problem-solving skills.
c) Attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
d) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
e) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
f) Excellent documentation, communication and superior knowledge.

- The successful candidate will be appointed under a fixed-term contract of one (1) year, renewable according to performance.
