Karatu District Councilis one of the seven districts of Arusha District in Tanzania. It is bordered by Ngorongoro District to the north, Shinyanga District to the west, Mondoli District to the east, and Manyara District to the south and southeast.
According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the Karatu District had a population of 178,434. By 2012, the area’s population was 230,166.
