Kasulu District Council-Kigoma, Tanzania

Kasulu District Council is one of the eight Councils that make up the Kigoma Region.
The Chairman of Kasulu District Council is Mr. Yohana Mishita and the Executive Director is Engineer Godfrey M. Kasekenya.
Kasulu District has an area of 5324 KM square. Kasulu District Council has a population of 425,792.
The economic activities of the residents of Kasulu District Council are agriculture, animal husbandry where in terms of agriculture, maize and bean crops are the main food crops and tobacco crops in terms of commercial crops.
Cassava is also widely grown and used for food and trade as are maize and bean crops.
In terms of pastoralism, the residents of Kasulu district are raising a variety of livestock including cattle, goats and sheep with a great deal of interaction of farmers and pastoralists from other parts of the country and abroad who come in search of agricultural land and grazing land.
MISSION
Kasulu District Council will improve delivery of social and economic services through efficient use of its resources
and active paricipation of all stakeholders following principles of democracy,equity and good governance.

VISION
Kasulu District in the next ten years will improve people’s economy by raising per capita income from the
present 130,000/= to 160,000/= in order to sustainably enhance social and economic well-being under democratic principles,peace,order and harmony.

As of 2002, Kasulu District was administratively divided into thirty wards:[2] However, administrative changes in 2012, removed some of the wards, for example, Buhigwe.
