Muheza District Council-Tanga, Tanzania

Muheza District Council is one of the eight (8) Districts that make up the Tanga Region. Muheza District started in 1974, where it was cut off from Tanga District. The district has 4 Divisions of Muheza, Bwembwera, Amani and Ngomeni, 37 Wards, 135 villages, and 522 Suburbs.
According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Muheza District was 279,423. According to the 2012 Tanzania National Census, the population of Muheza District had decreased to 204,461; this is less than ten years before, because Nkinga District was split off in that period.

To have a society with a better and more sustainable life by 2025.
Mission:
To provide quality and appropriate services to its citizens that will be based on priorities set for good governance and sustainable use of resources to increase the income of citizens and improve their quality of life.
