Senior Relationship Manager (2 positions)

The Commercial Bank of Tanzania is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and self-regulating Senior Relationship Manager (two positions) to join the Corporate Banking Department.

Direct Reporting Line:: Corporate Loan Manager
Job Location::  Dar es Salaam
Work schedule :: as per CBOT personnel regulations
Division ::   Company Loan
Salary:: Commensurate with the advertised position

Job Objective

The position holder will be responsible for the growth of the Bank’s business by acquiring new profitable clients and selling corporate banking products while promoting sales of other Commercial Bank of Tanzania products and services to increase the portfolio share among existing and new clients. This includes prospecting for new business as well as managing customer expectations to maintain strong business relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, grow and manage the corporate banking client base by recruiting new clients, ensuring optimal sales processes to existing clients to ensure maximum profitability of the bank. This can also be achieved by creating products tailored to meet individual customer needs.
  • Manage existing client relationships through regular contacts and visits by ensuring that the banking needs of clients are met in an effective and timely manner.
  • Enhance customer loyalty by cross selling and utilizing Commercial Bank of Tanzania products to increase portfolio share and ensure customer retention.
  • Work in close partnership with the credit team, branch teams, legal team, risk management and compliance to ensure credit applications for new and existing facilities are properly prepared in accordance with Commerce Bank of Tanzania policies and procedures.
  • Consistency in adherence to and application of established policies, processes, procedures and tools to achieve optimum efficiency, compliance and cost containment.
  • Monitor and maintain high quality loan book, ensuring excellent performance and maximum portfolio returns.
  • Minimize exposure and impact of risks associated with KYC, AML and portfolio maintenance.
  • Proactively manage clients’ portfolio in accordance with the regulatory environment, keeping abreast of the bank’s guidelines, policies and procedures to mitigate financial loss and fraud within the bank.
  • Coordinating and providing leadership to others in areas of expertise, particularly in relation to providing facilities to clients.
  • Adequacy of personal and interpersonal competence to effectively perform relationship management tasks. education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance and any other related fields from a recognized university/institution.
  • Master’s degree/postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Professional qualification in banking will be an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years working experience in Corporate Banking, Business Banking with a thorough understanding of the financial sector, working knowledge of CRM as well as customer creation.
  • Excellent understanding of banking products.
  • Practical experience in using Microsoft Office packages and banking systems.
