Good Neighbors is an international human development NGO founded in Korea in 1991 to make the world a hunger-free place, where people live together in harmony.
The first community development project in Bangladesh was launched in 1992 and the Good Neighbors program currently operates in 192 communities in 40 countries with our focus on a holistic community development approach and child protection.
In 1994, Good Neighbors implemented its first emergency response project in the case of Rwandan refugees, providing medical relief teams and establishing two schools in refugee camps.
Beginning with the emergency response in Rwanda, Good Neighbors has been actively responding to numerous disasters and emergencies including the Kobe earthquake in 1995, the South Asian tsunami in 2004, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, and the Nepal earthquake in 2015 .

In recognition of the valuable efforts in providing universal primary education worldwide, the Good Neighbors Foundation was awarded the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Award by the International Association Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) in 2007.
