Gauteng GDE Department of Education has announced admissions and registrations for 2023. Keep in mind the following dates for critical entry and registration deadlines:

From August 10, 2022 to September 3, 2022, the first stage of the online GDE application for the 2023 Admission Period will be available to learners of Grade 7 currently in the Gauteng Public School system to apply to Grade 8.

The second phase of the 2023 GDE admission period will begin on September 13, 2022 and end on October 8, 2022. The second phase accepts applications for entry into Grade 1 as well as applications from outside of Gauteng Public Schools through Grade 8.

During the first phase, parents of learners who are currently in regular public schools for Grade 7 in Gauteng will enroll their children in Grade 8

During Phase 2, parents of learners needing admission to Grade 1 and remaining Grade 7 learners from charter schools and other districts will submit Grade 1 and Grade 8 applications for the 2023 school year.

All parents who have children and need to start in Grade 1 and/or Grade 8 must apply online in order for learners to be accepted into the school in the 2023 school year.
