Job Title: IT Support Specialist


Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

We are searching for an experienced IT support specialist to join our vibrant team on behalf of our customer. The IT support specialist will be essential to maintaining the IT infrastructure of our company. In this role, you will be managing IT projects, debugging hardware and software problems, offering technical support, and helping to create and execute IT policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems promptly and effectively.
  • Respond to IT service requests and incidents in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime for end-users.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and network equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and backups.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage equipment warranties and service contracts.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance and security, implementing necessary improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Participate in the planning, execution, and documentation of IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and installations.
  • Coordinate project activities, allocate resources, and track project progress.
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and changes.
  • Create and update technical documentation, including user guides and knowledge base articles.
  • Share knowledge and provide training to junior IT staff and end-users.



  • Proven experience as an IT Support specialist or similar role, with a minimum of 1 to 2 years
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and hardware components.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
